Big changes in the Clerk's office. Joanne Kelley has retired effective June 1st, after 25 years of service to the Township. The Township Board has appointed Rachelle (Shelly) Enbody to complete Joanne's unexpired term. Shelly has more than 13 years' experience working in the Ludington City Clerk's office, and is familiar with many of the day-to-day happenings here.

Other responsibilities of the Clerk’s office include a variety of functions:
· Coordination of Township Board meetings, minutes, and correspondence
· Serving as the Township’s accountant through approval of invoices and
payment of bills, monthly and year-end accounting and payroll reporting,
management of a variety of fund types and balances, payroll preparation and
year-end payroll reporting
· Maintaining and securing all official records, ordinances and policies for the
Township
· Serving as the Township’s election official, maintaining voter registration
records and administering elections
· Providing information for constituents and other community members
In addition, Shelly is responsible for non-statutory functions such as grants administrator, pension and benefits manager, Freedom of Information officer, census coordinator, computer systems administrator, and author of the Township newsletter.

...and the Deputy Clerk!
Assisting with all these duties is the Deputy Clerk, Lisa Sarto. Lisa comes to us with nine years of municipal accounting experience in the Clerk's and Treasurer's offices in Traverse City, and a strong background in small business accounting.
As Deputy Clerk, Lisa works with Shelly in all aspects of her position, including voter's registration and with serving the residents during elections. Lisa works with our Accounts Payable as well as preparing the Township payroll.
