These charts for 2004 taxes let you compare Summer Tax and Winter Tax.  The numbers given are in mills.  Each mill is equal to 1/1,000th of a dollar, or $1 for each thousand dollars in taxable value.  All of the Summer Tax collected goes to the schools.  If you have a Principal Residence Exemption, the 18 mill "School Operating" portion will not apply to your property.

Pere Marquette Township's portion of taxes are collected with Winter Tax.  Our millage is 2.85 mills, or $2.85 for every $1,000. in taxable value.  (Remember your taxable value is no more than half of the market value of real property.)  For example, if you have a home with a taxable value of $50,000., $142.50 of the taxes you pay come to the Township.
