January 2003 saw an impressive change in our Townhall. Local artist, Nancy Terryn, painted a mural in our public reception area. Working from photos, Nancy placed the old Townhall (now at White Pine Village) in a wooded scene with the Father Marquette Memorial in the background. Out front is a vintage automobile, placing the scene in the 1940's. Thank you, Nancy -- everyone seems to love it!
Working from hours of collage sketches, it took Nancy the better part of three days to paint this look back into history here in the Township.
Using an overhead projector to position her sketch on the wall, Nancy then transferred the image by hand.
The acrylic paints will stay fresh-looking, and should withstand many years of service at the Township offices.
