This page will serve to let interested people know of any openings in the Township, and provide a means for interested people to apply for any open positions. Please read carefully, as some positions are only open to Pere Marquette Charter Township residents, and some have additional requirements.
Township Staff Positions

Economic Development Committee
This newly re-designed committee will work to promote the Economic Development interests of Pere Marquette Township. Projects may include such things as promoting sale of the Industrial and Business Park properties, visually improving the entrances to the Township, promoting "walkability" and the development of safe footpaths and bikepaths in the Township. This committee may assist in other projects which intersect with Economic Development. Individuals with related backgrounds are especially sought for service on this committee. Members are appointed for one-year terms, and interested folks can download a printable application which you can fill out and mail to us, or bring it by the Townhall. Members must be residents of Pere Marquette Township. Employees or contractors of the Township may not serve as EDC members.
Planning Commission
We currently have an opening on our Planning Commission. Regular meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The current opening is to complete a term which expires in December 2013. Members are appointed for three-year terms, and interested folks can download a printable application which you can fill out and mail to us, or drop off at the Townhall. Members on the PC must be residents of Pere Marquette Township. Employees or contractors of the Township may not serve as members.
Zoning Board of Appeals
We have positions open for two "alternates" on the Zoning Board of Appeals. ZBA meets in regular session four times per year, with additional meetings as needed. Applicants for "alternate" should be able and willing to attend some regular ZBA meetings on a volunteer basis to become familiar with current issues and be able to step in when needed as an alternate. Alternates will only be paid for meetings they are required to attend.
